Olympic-bound Julie Swail Ertel uses Zone Labs’ products to bolster her training.
Julie won a silver medal in the 2000 Olympics in water polo. She won the Olympic trials in Tuscaloosa, Ala., in April and will return this year to the Olympics on Team USA as a triathlete.
Zone products used in training include pasta, olive oil, toasted sesame seed oil, Zone Bars, Zone Shakes, and EicoPro Omega-3 EPA/DHA Concentrate, SeaHealth Plus and Polyphenol Plus.
“I feel that I recover faster with the higher-protein pasta. I like to have that after a muscle breakdown workout/day to help my muscles regenerate. I use the shakes as post workout snacks to help me immediately begin recovering from my workout. I use the Polyphenol Plus because it is an antioxidant that helps repair the damage caused by a heavy training load,” she said. “The SeaHealth Plus, while also having antioxidant benefits, also supplies me with a nice source of sea plant trace minerals not easily found in a typical diet. I use the fish oils to aid in heart health and inflammation reduction.”
A typical training day consists of breakfast, workout, snack, teach, snack, workout, snack, active recovery, dinner, relax.
